A simple, non-surgical procedure, anti-wrinkle injections are particularly effective in treating unsightly frown lines and crows’ feet and the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
At the Mosman Skin Clinic, plastic surgeon Dr Garry Buckland personally administers every injection, so you can rest assured, knowing you’re in extremely experienced and capable hands.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily weakening the muscles in the areas around the eyes, eyebrows or forehead – muscles which form lines over time from muscle activity during facial expression. Once weakened, the muscles no longer function to produce the lines, and the lines’ appearance diminishes.
Shallow lines may disappear completely, while deep lines may require other treatments such as Dermal Fillers, or a combination of anti-wrinkle injections and other facial rejuvenation procedures such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photorejuvenation.
By regularly receiving anti-wrinkle injections before permanent lines form, it’s possible to delay, or even prevent, some wrinkles appearing at all, and to keep your skin looking as young as you feel.
The treatment itself involves a number of miniscule injections into the relevant muscle. Some patients describe a brief stinging sensation and mild swelling or bruising can occur.
Several days after your injections you’ll notice the results, and the effects last for between three and six months, depending upon the patient and the area being treated. After repeated use, you will find that the results last longer.
